Here are some tips and tricks I have learned through my own experiences as well as my clients over the years. I hope they help you to enjoy the greatest amount of lash longevity!
MOIST HEAT IS NOT RECOMMENDED: (no steam rooms, facials with heavy steam, steam showers, etc) This will prematurely loosed the adhesive.
*I recommend that if you do a regular monthly facial, you schedule it right before your lash appointment so that steam and emollient products do not ruin your lashes.
HANDS OFF: Its best to avoid exessive contact with the lashes. Don’t sleep on your face, heavy winds will move the a lot so wear sunglasses at beach or on a boat if you do not want to be worrying about your extensions. Touching, tugging and playing with the lashes is not a good idea.
WHEN YOU WASH YOUR FACE: Wash gently around your eyes, don’t rub your eyes/lashes. Be gentle. Women who opt to use makeup wipes or a clairsonic type of cleansing routine have the best longevity with their lashes.
WASHING OFF EYE MAKEUP AND CLEANSING LASHES: Using extension safe cleanser is a good rule of thumb, or in a pinch you can dilute baby shampoo with water. This is a great, inexpensive cleanser for lash extension wearers.
SHOWERS AND SWIMMING: Its perfectly ok to get these lashes wet in the shower. It is recommended that they stay completely dry for the first 48 hours, however after that I recommend that you get your lashes wet every 3-4 days at minimum. this helps your natural lashes to stay stronger and flexible. remember, dry hair gets brittle and breaks.
APPLY MASCARA GENTLY: Ladies, please use easy-rinse mascara only. Waterproof mascara is like tar and it is not good for lash extensions.
To test if it’s easy rinse, put it on your hand, let it sit for about 30 minutes, and then put it under a faucet. If it rinses easily, then that’s perfect.
Mascara is OK, when you use the blink method….do not bring the mascara brush all the way through the lashes…simply “blink” onto the wand so that the bottom of the lashes becomes more defined and thick. It can also help set them in place. Blink onto the brush several times if you wish, but no need to re-apply until you cleanse again. Mascara build-up can get cake-y and will build up on your lash base if it’s not removed properly…this will lead to clumping and lash loss.
FEEL LIKE YOUR LASHES ARE SHEDDING TOO SOON? IT’S ALL A MATTER OF PREFERENCE, BUT ANYTIME AFTER 2 1/2 -4 WEEKS CAN BE TIME FOR A FILL DEPENDING ON YOUR LIFESTYLE AND INDIVIDUAL LASH CYCLE.
